The year of 2020 took the world by storm, with COVID-19 upending our lives and altogether reshaping the way we live, work, communicate, socialize and connect. When we first heard news of the pandemic, most of us were shocked and often paralyzed, not knowing what to do or how to react. As the situation became clearer, organizations focused on business continuity and trying to weather the storm with incurring as little damage as possible. As weeks turned into months, the focus shifted to trying to understand the long-term ramifications of the pandemic and how we would adapt to what has already become the “new normal.”
As digital technologies continue to increase, hackers have become more creative and sophisticated in their attacks. The pandemic created a catalyst for an unprecedented increase in cyber threats and fertile ground for hackers to thrive among the chaos. As a result, the world saw what we have known for some time: ensuring that your business is cyber-secure is not a luxury, but a necessity.
Cybersecurity: Evolving from an IT Issue to a Business Priority
We believe that cyber risks are not technical issues, but rather business priorities that have direct implications on a company’s continuity, health and even valuation. As a result, we quantify cybersecurity risks and correlate them with the potential business impact.
Our unique approach continues to be validated time and time again, as our customers understand that their cyber postures are directly linked to their company’s day-to-day operations and success.
With security posture being recognized as one of the most valuable assets of a business, our customers are optimizing their investments and building internal capabilities that suit their exact needs.
“COVID-Certified”
While 2020 has been a year like no other in living memory and has presented a myriad of challenges, it has also created opportunities to learn and grow. In fact, one of our guiding principles at CYE is to challenge assumptions – always. We know that in order to thrive and excel, we need to challenge our preconceived notions, question the norm and reassess our ways of thinking. COVID-19 enabled us to utilize this conviction like never before and not only improve our own business and security operations, but also the cybersecurity postures of our customers. For this reason we call the security we bring to our customers “COVID-certified.”
Despite the challenges of 2020, our team grew by 25% and we doubled our customer base.
Facing 2021 with Strength and Fortitude
As the hybrid model of working from home and from the office becomes the new norm, cyber attacks and new threats will continue to become more sophisticated, diverse and well-planned.
Companies will need to proactively ensure that their assets remain secure. This, however, does not necessarily mean allocating more resources and hiring larger teams, but, rather, being able to understand how to prioritize and where to invest, while identifying the vulnerabilities that need to be protected most.
As we embark on 2021, we want to take this opportunity to thank our customers and partners for their trust and our employees for their continued dedication and commitment. We look forward to making 2021 another record-breaking year and setting the standard for what it means to be “cyber-secure.”
